Diving with Enriched Air (Nitrox) in the Kerama Islands

Hello everyone,

It was Matt’s 3rd day of diving in Okinawa and Keramra Islands.

Today, we used all three dives Enriched Air Nitrox (32%).
It was good idea- we were able to concentrate taking pictures on a little deeper end, and there were so many to shoot!
We saw sea turtles on each of our dives as well as some interesting creatures…

Diving with Enriched Air Nitrox!

Hello everyone,

Today we had great dives using Enriched Air Nitrox (32%).

We had some middle aged – elder (don’t get mad at me!) guys diving with us, so it was really a great idea to use Enriched Air Nitrox for our dives today, especially having two of them flying tomorrow.

We watched shrimp gobies taking care of their houses, Anemonefish having their eggs, finding some snake eels, and enjoyed the little wreck of an airplane at Dragon Lady.

Diving the west coast of Okinawa Island – Okinawa Diving

Hello there,

We had great diving today as well, at Okinawa West Coast.
I had Matt from Stanford University and Mr Mizuno from Japan diving with me. We had great Macro dives at various dive sites.
Everybody is enjoying their 2 days/ 3 days diving in Okinawa.

Many nudibranches, various kinds of coral, and many anemonefish laying eggs.

At the end of the dives today, Naoki found a big Giant Frogfish sitting among the coral reef at Marina 225.
That was a great find, and even by the frogfish, we found a rare kind of nudibranch sitting. That was very funny.

It’s too bad that my camera started fogging during the third dive of the day :P

Dives with Whale Sharks! – Okinawa Diving

Hello there,

Today, we enjoyed 2 dives with the whale sharks in Yomitan!
Simon and Irena requested diving with them for twice. You know, it makes sense – it’s a dive inside a huge net set offshore, so it takes a little bit of time getting used to be in there. While spending the first time watching the whale sharks, you will know where to wait for them to get closer to them as well. Then, the second dive, you can enjoy more!

We also had some researchers from Churaumi Aquarium doing their check-up with the whale sharks, so it was quite interesting to watch them doing that as well.

At the end of the day, when we came back from the dives, we saw some Okinawan Heroes (Ryujin Mabuyer) shooting on the boat. It was cool! I took some pictures of them to show to my son!

Various Sea Creatures in Okinawa

Here are some pictures from today’s dives. Not very good good pictures though…
At Inanbishi, we have various kinds of sea animals and fish.

When you look down at the bottom, you will find something like this.
A big puffer taking a nap, a huge cowrie shells, and shrimp gobies.

Shaks, Ghost Pipe Fish, Jaw Fish, Manta Shrimps….. Okinawa Diving

Hello Everyone,

it was the second day of Irina and Simon having their 3 days dive package. Today was the Okinawa West Coast Dive’s day.
We had very good dives around Kadena today, from a shark to many macro sea creatures!

Simon pointed out the white tip reef shark who has been hanging around this area for a while. He is completely hiding under a rock, except for his back fin sticking out, which kind of makes it obvious that he’s hiding there :)

Diving in the Kerama Islands! – Okinawa

It was a very good day of diving in the Kerama Islands today!
Unlike the usual days in December, we had sunshine and south wind, which gave us a chance to dive with turtles, swimming through a big cave, and enjoy thousands of fish schools swimming by.

In the cave, there was a pair of juvenile wrasse.

We were very lucky to see 2 or 3 big turtles in 1 dive.
Also, because of good timing with the tidal schedule, we were surrounded by thousands of fusiliers during the third dive!

Irina and Simon are going to enjoy 3 days of diving, 1 day in the Kerama Islands, 1 day diving the Okinawa West Coast, and 1 day diving with Whale Sharks.
Sounds like a good vacation plan, huh?
